Apple Caramel Skor Dip
Honeycrisp apples beautifully accompany this easy to prepare apple dip because they keep from oxidizing (going brown) too quickly. A ‘go to’ recipe for surprise guests, big family dinners or potlucks, this dessert gives people the option to eat their apples as nature intended or add a little sweetness.
Preparation Time: 5 minutes
Cooking Time: 5 minutes
Servings: 16 servings of 4 slices
Ingredients
- 1 package (8 oz.) Philadelphia cream cheese, room temperature
- 1 cup brown sugar
- Smucker’s caramel sauce (enough to drizzle over top of desert)
- 1 regular size Skor chocolate bar (broken into small pieces)
- 8 Honeycrisp apples (sliced)
Tip: If using apples other than Honeycrisp, drizzle apple slices with one tablespoon of lemon juice to keep from going brown too quickly.
Preparation
Bring cream cheese to room temperature, add brown sugar and blend thoroughly with a mixer until the consistency is smooth.
Spread mixture onto a plate and drizzle with caramel sauce. Chop the Skor bar into small bits and sprinkle over the dip. Cover with plastic wrap and store in the fridge if not serving right away.
Take the dip out of the fridge at least 20 minutes before serving so the cream cheese can soften a bit. During this time, cut apples into wedges.
To eat, simply dip, scoop and bite.
